SCC is a gathering for people who see code as a soft material. We are interested less in “writing code well” than in quickly giving form to the ideas in our heads with code.
Soft does not mean coding is easy or careless. Beyond the hard coding standards of precision and functionality, we treat code as a flexible medium for expression: a material that can be handled and transformed.
Like building with Lego blocks, we make prototypes by shaping code with our hands. That is why we spend two hours each week making and sharing one prototype each. We value the process of making and experimenting over completion.
In KAIST’s engineering-centred setting, we are looking for people who want to make something beyond what simply “works well” through code. Your major does not matter, whether you already code or are just opening it up for the first time.
